Isla Urbana - #1BucketADay Challenge!

A great way to earn Service/CAS Hours and to raise awareness about water scarcity!

  • Date: World Water Day, Monday, March 22nd (This is an asynchronous day for us)

  • Location: You do this at home, and use social media to track your progress throughout the day and your experiences!

  • See the flyer and the document attached below to participate!

Isla Urbana presents the #1BucketADay challenge, a playful initiative that invites us to actively face the reality of scarcity and the need to make a change in habits enabling us to use water more efficiently and responsibly in the future. The challenge is simple: it consists of spending a whole day using only the amount of water that will fit inside of a conventional bucket while trying to cover all of your water needs.

The only rule: you cannot turn on any faucet or use bottled water.

Caring for and valuing water is a task for all of us and a first step in achieving this is to

understand the volume of water that we use in our daily activities. The #1BucketADay

Challenge aims to achieve this by facing scarcity, prompting us to use our ingenuity

and making us reflect on our habits and paradigms.
