2020-21 AP Registration

I am modifying the email from Ms. Biela below to clarify the process a bit for 11th graders:

1) Read and understand the UNHP policy regarding AP exams and figure out which exams you are taking this year.

(a) You are required to take the AP exam for the class if you are enrolled in the AP section of the class (the class says "AP" in PowerSchool).

(b) If you are not registered officially in the AP section of the class, you are still welcome to take the AP exam for the class. Just make sure to follow the instructions below.

(c) Below is a list of potential AP classes that many 11th graders are registered in. You should still check PowerSchool to ensure that you are registering for all the right AP exams. And remember that you might not be taking all the classes listed below, so you wouldn't be required to take those AP exams:

(i) (AP) US Government: AP US Government and Politics exam

(ii) (AP) US History since Reconstruction: AP US History exam

(iii) AP Biology: AP Biology exam

(iv) AP Chemistry: AP Chemistry exam

(v) IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL 1: AP Calculus AB exam (remember this is not an AP class, so you are NOT required to take this AP exam)

(vi) IB Language Studies A: Lang and Lit HL1 / English III: Lang and Lit: AP English Language and Composition exam (remember this is not an AP class, so you are NOT required to take this AP exam)

(vii) IB Language Studies A: Literature HL1 / English III: Lit: AP English Literature & Composition exam (remember this is not an AP class, so you are NOT required to take this AP exam)

2) Use the "Join Code" for each AP class to register in AP Classroom by 10/23 at noon

(a) Go to https://apclassroom.collegeboard.org/

(b) Log in to your College Board account. If you need your school ID number for some reason, you can find that in PowerSchool.

(c) Scroll down and click on "Join a Course or Exam"

(d) Enter the 6 digit code given by your teacher for that class. If you do not know the code and you know that you will be taking the exam for that class, email your teacher ASAP.

(e) Repeat the above steps to register for all the AP exams you will be taking in spring.

3) Pay the registration fees to the school by 12/1

(a) Fill out the following form

(b) Take the following details into account when filling out the form:

(i) Each AP exam is $94

(ii) If your family qualifies for the Free/Reduced Lunch program, each AP exam is $54.

(iii) Parents may pay the AP exam fee by check (made out to "UNHP") or by credit card. (c) Submit the form along with the payment by one of the following means:

(i) Mail to Uplift North Hills Preparatory, 606 E Royal Ln, Irving, TX 75038 in a sealed envelope.

(ii) Drop off at campus in a sealed envelope, Monday-Friday between 9am & 3pm

(iii) Email a scanned copy of the form (ONLY FOR CREDIT CARDS) to Mrs. Shabout (ashabout@uplifteducation.org)
