Adapted From Ms. Estrada's Email:
The National Merit Scholarship Program is allowing scholars to submit their SAT scores if they are not able to take the PSAT. They also understand that this pandemic is creating a lot of obstacles for our scholars and they wanted to make sure that students still have an opportunity to participate. I have attached the details from the National Merit Scholars Program on submitting your SAT scores if you do not take the PSAT. Here are a few key details:
Juniors will need to submit the alternative entry form by the deadline in April
They can use scores from any SAT taken this year (August 2020 – June 2021)
Uplift does not offer the SAT on campus but you can sign up through College Board to take the exam at most area high schools, there are still opportunities to take the SAT in May and June: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/dates-deadlines (we can give you a fee waiver if you qualify)
You will need to have your scores sent to the National Merit program before October 2021
You ONLY have this option if you don’t take the PSAT, once you take the PSAT, they will only consider your PSAT scores in the competition
We do not offer any specific SAT Prep at UNHP but our scholars do have access to free test prep resources through College Board, Khan Academy, Method Test Prep and PLATO. Please reach out if you want more information about any of these programs.
