Info From (You can also visit these websites): AP Updates for Schools Impacted by Coronavirus (https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/about-ap/news-changes/coronavirus-update) & Information for AP Students Affected by Coronavirus (COVID-19) (https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates)
Stay Tuned: More info will be posted on the above websites on April 3.
There will be an at-home testing option.
There will be an option between two testing dates for each AP exam.
It will be a 45-minute online exam that can be taken using any electronic device with internet access. Taking a photo of handwritten work will suffice. Plagiarism detection software will be used, so DON'T CHEAT. You shouldn't be cheating anyway.
There will only be free-response questions. For WHAP, it will probably be 3 SAQs since that is the most efficient way to cover multiple content areas. For WHAP specifically, only Units 1-6 will be covered (up to Consequences of Industrialization). Units 7-9 (Global Conflict, Cold War and Decolonization, and Globalization) will NOT be on the exam. This means that you need to study all of Mr. Rash's PowerPoints starting from Mongols and Islam to Industrialization, Imperialism, and Modernization & Upheaval in the East. World Wars, Communism/Cold War, and Globalization PowerPoints are not necessary.
They will provide more specifics about the testing on April 3, including the weightage of different aspects of the exam, and definitively whether it is an SAQ or another type of free-response question.
FRQs will be unlocked on AP Classroom (https://apclassroom.collegeboard.org/) for practice. These are highly recommended.
AP will provide free AP learning classes online which will be live and on-demand.These are supplemental materials from the last 25% of the course (which isn't covered on the exam, but it's just to make sure that you are prepared for college in general). More content that focuses on the 75% of the course that will be on the exam may be added soon. The playlist is embedded below.
For more specifics regarding the exam, look at "The Course" page (https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/courses/ap-world-history/course) for WHAP on College Board and the Course and Exam Description (https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/pdf/ap-world-history-modern-course-and-exam-description.pdf?course=ap-world-history). Remember, these specific pages and documents are not updated to reflect the new testing conditions outlined above.
