Updates from Mme. Pereira - Last Days of School

Updated: May 14, 2020

QUARTER 4 COUNTS! Here’s How!!  There are some rumors going around that Quarter 4 doesn’t count.  BUT IT DOES!  Keep reading so you know what’s fact and what’s fiction:

  • MYTH: Quarter 4 does not affect my GPA, so it does not really count.

  • FACT: Quarter 4 still counts towards your credits. Credits are required to graduate and to advance to the next grade level. If you do not participate in Quarter 4 work, you will have to complete make up work before next semester (projects, exams, credit recovery, summer school, etc.) OR repeat the course next school year.

  • MYTH: I have too many zeroes in Quarter 4 and it’s too late to make them up.

  • FACT: Teachers are accepting late work right now! All work completed and turned in before THIS THURSDAY May 14th (seniors) and THIS FRIDAY May 15th (juniors) will be given up to a 70, which is PASSING.

  • MYTH: Quarter 4 grades don’t count since they’re being converted into P/F at the end.

  • FACT: You must have a 70+ to earn ‘P’ at the end of the quarter. You need that ‘P’ to earn credit for the semester.

DON’T end up in Summer School or paying to take an entire semester on PLATO just because you didn’t turn in a few assignments!  Get your late work in by this week’s deadlines!  Check PowerSchool to make sure you are passing!
