Remote Learning 2.0

Updated: Apr 17, 2020

Mme. Pereira has sent us an email regarding Remote Learning for Quarter 4 due to COVID-19 school closure. Please email me (mrigho2788@students.uplifteducation.org) if you would like me to forward it to you. Below, you will find a summary.

• Remote learning will start on Monday, March 30, 2020. Please see the attached schedule below for details. Unlike the enrichment, this is NOT optional. The overall idea is that you should be spending 90 minutes per class per week.

• The 10th Grade Page (https://www.uplifteducation.org/Domain/2023) will be updated by the teachers and administration with more details.

• For each class, there will be a 90-minute Zoom Call OR 90-minute assignment to complete independently. If you miss the Zoom Call, to keep up with the requirements for attendance and grades listed below, your teacher will have an alternate assignment or reflection activity posted on their webpage for you to complete when you can. Each individual teacher will also have a "School Closure Activities" tab on their faculty page which will contain the weekly activity (if applicable) updated by 8 AM on Monday of the respective week.

Instructions for each individual Zoom call will be posted on the teachers' faculty pages. For now, please download Zoom (https://zoom.us/download) on your computer or phone. Computer is preferred. Make sure to use your real legal name as listed on PowerSchool for attendance purposes.

Attendance and Grades: Your attendance, participation, and completion of assignments in these Zoom Calls or assigned activities will determine your official attendance. Most assignments will be completion grades. If you attend the call or do the assignment, you will be fine. These participation grades will be entered into PowerSchool for Quarter 4. Remember, attendance requirements for graduation have not changed, so make sure you complete the necessary activities and/or attend the necessary calls. All independent activities must be submitted to your teacher by 11:59 pm each Friday.

• Teachers will remain available to answer questions via email.

Class Meetings: Every Friday from 12:30 - 1 PM starting 4/10 (i.e. NO meeting on 4/3). More info will be sent soon.

NO VIRTUAL SCHOOL on Good Friday (Friday 4/10). We will send out a Remind in case you forget.
